«What is happening in the world today can be rather described as chaos, not a crisis», - the Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan said on 21 February speaking at the International Economic Forum «Bridge-2009» being held in the Armenian resort town Tsaghkadzor

«We are the witnesses of the formation of a new world, and today no one ventures to give an assessment of this new world, - the Premier noted. - If we are dealing with the formation of a new world, the patterns that were inherent in earlier forms of the society self-organization, will no longer show. This means that there should be a new logic, which we are not yet been able to reckon».
The states, according to Sargsyan, are developing new concepts of ways out of the current situation, applying to unconventional measures to regulate the economy, which leads to general failure. The Armenian Prime Minister also drew attention to the fact that the states are becoming owners of the largest corporations, whether they want it or not: «This is due to the provision of financial assistance to companies to such an extent that as a result the state investments exceed the equity capital of companies. Thus, states get the opportunity to influence the world economic processes: the economy is being politicized, since global players are forced to make decisions on political grounds, but not on the basis of economic expediency».
Tigran Sargsyan considers that as a result of the states’ attempts to protect their interests, the borders cease to be transparent, new schemes for the protection of domestic producers are being invented, as well as new channels of border crossings for people and goods, and these channels are often unclear: «Protectionism is gaining strength. As a result, we can record that the process of globalization is completed, while the process of localization has started».
