During his visit to Karachayevo-Cherkessia, the Vice-Premier of the Russian Federation Sergei Ivanov has opened children's sports and recreation complex in Cherkessk. The opening ceremony was held in the building of the sports complex. It was attended by the President of Karachayevo-Cherkessia Boris Ebzeyev. «Children's sports and recreation complex is the first sports complex built in the Northern Caucasus at the expense of the charitable fund «New generation». It is after my heart to open this complex, because children and their good health are the most important thing, as well as the future of our country, - the Vice-Premier said. - Here children will have the opportunity to go in for such popular sports as tae kwon do and Greco-Roman wrestling, as well as play mini-football, basketball and volleyball», - he added. The complex was built as soon as in eight months and was fully equipped for holding competitions and training sessions. It consists of three gyms with professional sports coverage and administrative buildings, namely – coaches’ rooms, staff premises, changing rooms, showers, infirmary and sauna. The building of the sports complex was built using the most modern technologies and materials, equipped with modern engineering systems, including an individual gas boiler-room. All the building materials were of local production, and builders were all residents of Cherkessk. All this was done with the active support of the republican authorities, and the leadership of the city of Cherkessk. All were working conjointly. This allowed build the sports facility at a modern level quickly and accurately. Sergei Ivanov expressed his hope that «these gyms will never be empty, and the children living in Cherkessk will be able to go in for martial arts, as the Caucasus has always been famous for its excellent judoists».
