The planned visit of the Israeli President Shimon Peres to Azerbaijan has made indignant the pro-Islamic parties of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Having gathered at a meeting with journalists, their representatives demanded that the country’s government would rescind invitation of the Israeli high guest, «until it is too late».
The Leader of the Islamic Party of Azerbaijan Haji Movsum reminded the audience about the mass killings of Palestinians in Gaza, committed by Israeli soldiers, and the protest statement of the Turkish Prime Minister R.-T. Erdoğan in Switzerland in this connection. «After the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, we expected that Baku would also take a principled position against Israel, - the Leader of the Islamic Party of Azerbaijan noted. - Even in Israel itself dissatisfaction with the Zionist policy of this country is growing, the antiwar movement is expanding. We are waiting for similar actions from the part of the Government of Azerbaijan».
The meeting participants focused the attention of the gathered on the famous UN Security Council resolution, having equated Zionism with Nazism. The speakers believe that Shimon Peres, personally involved in the Zionist actions against the Arabs, should not be received in Baku.
A philosopher-theologian, chairman of the religious human rights organization DEVAMM Haji Ilgar Ibrahimoglu called S. Peres to be the head of the terrorist regime, whose visit to any country negatively characterizes this state. And the leader of the Religious Party «Fazilet» Haji Gunduz regards invitation of S. Perez to Azerbaijan as a result of the fallacious domestic policy of Azerbaijan.
