Nalchik hosted the field meeting of the Secretariat of the Russia's Union of Cinematographers, with the participation of representatives of North Ossetia - Alania, Daghestan, Karachayevo-Cherkessia, Adygea and Ingushetia. The meeting, devoted to the revival of film industry in the republics of the Northern Caucasus, was attended by the President of KBR Arsen Kanokov.
In the exposition hall of the capital of Adygea took place the second exhibition of the artist Vladimir Puzhelev, a man of complicated destiny and great talent.
For centuries, has been passed on from generation to generation the skill of Balkar craftswomen, who tirelessly made felt carpets - kiyizes, weaved cloth, sewed clothes, bringing in the patterns their mood - sadness and merriment, sorrow and joy. Today very few people are involved in this difficult trade, because it’s much easier to buy finished products in the store. Although many kinds of art crafts become a thing of the past, individual elements of folk art revive in the works of contemporary professionals of applied arts.
